Our Criticisms Spurred Ugochinyere To Action-Akwaa Akwuru

The spokesperson for the Conference of United Progressive Persons (CUPP,) Ideato, Dr. Vitus Modesty Ezenwa popularly known as Akwaa Akwuru Umuobom, has announced the cessation of criticisms directed towards Hon. Imo Ikenga Ugochinyere, the representative of Ideato Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Akwaa Akwuru Umuobom stated that the criticisms have successfully achieved their intended purpose, which was to compel the federal legislator to address the challenges faced by his constituents.

He emphasized that it is no longer reasonable to persist with the criticisms, given that the lawmaker has effectively addressed nearly all pertinent issues.

He remarked, “Due to that pressure, Ikenga had no choice but to take action. While we were raising concerns, he was actively resolving them. While we were conducting World Press Conferences, he was in our wards and communities implementing development initiatives. While we were demanding accountability, he was delivering results: in education through scholarships, in youth development through skills training and empowerment, and in infrastructure with projects benefiting our villages.”

He revealed that he did not receive any support from others, including politicians who are currently opposing Hon. Ugochinyere.

According to Akwaa Akwuru Umuobom, these politicians had opted for political correctness rather than genuine support.

He accused the politicians of engaging in self-serving behavior, prioritizing personal gain over the collective welfare.

The CUPP spokesperson asserted that Hon. Ugochinyere has effectively represented the constituency and should be permitted to continue his work.

He predicted that the lawmaker will secure a smooth reelection in 2027, noting that if he was able to overcome significant political opponents in 2023, the current group of politicians contesting against him will be easily defeated.

Akwaa Akwuru Umuobom had spearheaded the formation of CUPP Ideato in the first year of Hon Ugochinyere’s stay at the House of Representatives.

Coming at a time Hon Ugochinyere was the spokesperson for Conference of United Political Parties (CUPP), some people might have construed the development as the polarization of the CUPP led by the federal legislator.

Dr. Ezenwa used the platform to attempt to disparage the lawmaker, describing his first year at the National Assembly as one of wasted votes.
