High Chief M.C. Obi (Ugwumbaise Gbirugburu) and his wife, Lolo Chief Mrs. Stella Obi (Osodiachi), have donated N1 million to support the sons and daughters of Mbaise Nation undergoing security training in Imo State.
The contribution aims to alleviate the financial challenges faced by the trainees at the ongoing Imo State Security Training in Eziama Obaire, Nkwerre LGA.
The donation was distributed among the three LGAs of Mbaise Nation, specifically Aboh, Ahiazu, and Ezinihite Mbaise.
The couple, known for funding various projects in Mbaise and based in the US, also made a separate cash donation to trainees from Eziudo Autonomous Community.
A delegation led by Hon Prince Ikem, comprising notable Mbaise sons, visited the trainees at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Eziama Obaire, on October 26, 2025.
During the visit, Hon Prince Ikem encouraged the trainees to remain steadfast throughout the training.
Hon. Steve Echeta, Deputy Leader of Ezinihite Mbaise Legislative Council, highlighted that the donation was made in the spirit of equity, fairness, and inclusivity, as requested by the Obi family, and expressed anticipation for future support.
Other delegation members included Hon Emeka Echeta and Bar Jude.
Mr. Isaiah Agwuocha, a trainee from Ezinihite Mbaise, thanked the couple on behalf of the others, praying for their prosperity.
The Imo State Government is currently training approximately 1,750 individuals who will be inaugurated as Imo Vigilante operatives upon completion of their training.
