NBA Drags Police To Court Over Tinted Windscreens
The Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, has dragged the Police Force before the Federal High Court Abuja over the enforcement of the ban on use of vehicles fitted with tinted glasses.
Joined in the suit No: FHC/ABJ/CS/1821/2025 is the Inspector General of Police.
The NBA is challenging the legality of the enforcement of the tinted glasses.
It is noteworthy that until the court determines the case either way, the enforcement scheduled to commence on October 4, 2025 cannot come into effect.
The motoring public is therefore advised to bring this to the knowledge of Police officers conducting stop-and-search operations on highways.
Recall that the police served notice to begin enforcement on October 4, 2025.
The police had advised motorists using vehicles with factory-fitted windscreens to obtain permit while those using impoverished tinted glasses are to dismantle them.
The police also barred commuter vehicle operators from fitting tinted glasses on their vehicles.
