Broadcaster Lauds Magistrate For Ordering Tiger Base Commander’s Prosecution

His Worship E. U Chinaka, a Chief Magistrate in Imo State has been commended for ordering the prosecution of Inspector Barnabas and Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP Oladimeji Odeyeyiwa,, the Commander of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Imo State Police Command otherwise known as Tiger Base.

A broadcaster, Chinonso Ubah popularly known as Nonsonkwa gave the commendation in a video he shared in the social media.

Nonsonkwa described His Worship Chinaka as one of the few magistrates and judges in the state that have courage and integrity.

He accused the administration of Senator Hope Uzodimma of deploying the Tiger Base for self serving purposes.

Nonsonkwa expresses reservation that the Chief Magistrate’s order will be carried out by the state government and the state commissioner of police

But the broadcaster maintains that Oladimeji and inspector Barnabas will eventually be prosecuted because the record of their misdeeds is already with the international human rights commission.

According to Nonsonkwa, nobody except the courts has the right to terminate anyone’s life.

Recall that His Worship Chnaka ordered the prosecution of Oladimeji Odeyeyiwa and inspector Barnabas for torturing to death one Japhet Njoku , a vigilante operative in the Tiger Base facility.

Njoku was alleged to have stolen goods from the shop of a woman at the popular Alaba Market in Owerri while on night guard duty.

Nonsonkwa alleged that Njoku’s inability to pay a bribe of N800,000 requested by Oladimeji Odeyiyemi led to his death at the Tiger Base.
