Era Of Writing Poll Results In Hotel Rooms Is Over -APP Candidate, Amadi
Mazi Chima Matthew Amadi, the Action People’s Party (APP) candidate for the Imo East Senatorial District, has proclaimed the cessation of ballot manipulation within the district.
Amadi, widely recognized as Mazi Gbugburu, stated that individuals will no longer have the opportunity to fabricate election results from the comfort of hotel rooms, subsequently seeking official endorsement as election victors, as has occurred in previous instances.
Launching his campaign at Ogbaku Community in the Mbaitoli Council Area of Imo State on August 19, Dr. Amadi assured his audience that not only will votes be counted, but no further misconduct will be tolerated before or during the election scheduled for January 16, 2027.
He expressed regret over what he characterized as detrimental leadership in Imo East, which he believes has stifled the aspirations of the populace for an extended period.
He remarked, “To anyone contemplating the intimidation of our supporters – we are aware of your intentions, and we will resist. To those scheming to harass our agents, disrupt our rallies, or threaten the citizens of Imo East for exercising their right to choose freely – understand this: we will not retreat, we will not yield, and we will not be silenced. Gburugburu signifies everywhere – and throughout this zone, our constituents will stand, safeguarded by the law, our solidarity, and our unwavering determination.
“Every legitimate resource – the judiciary, law enforcement agencies, and the vigilant observation of the global community – will be utilized to uphold our right to campaign and your right to hear our message.
“We have come too far to be intimidated into obscurity. Imo East has buried too many dreams under ineffective leadership; we will not allow our courage to be buried as well.
“Furthermore, let me issue this unequivocal warning: we are prepared to defend our votes. Every ballot cast by the people of Imo East will be counted: nothing more, nothing less.
“The era of fabricating results in hotel rooms has concluded. Our agents will be trained, vigilant, and present at every polling unit and collation center. We will observe, document, and track every vote from the ballot box to the final declaration.
“Only the votes cast will be acknowledged, and anyone contemplating the subversion of the will of Ndi Imo East should abandon that notion today, for we will lawfully and resolutely resist such actions until the very end.”
The Senatorial candidate urged party members and supporters to campaign boldly across all corners of the Senatorial District, pledging to address any challenges they may face.
“I encourage our members: campaign with confidence. Engage with dignity. Persuade with facts. Support one another. And to the people of Imo East: evaluate me based on my ideas, character, and record; and when the time comes, let your vote resonate louder than any threat”, he concluded.
