Court Stops Imo Govt From Trespassing On Umuocha Avu Land

An Owerri High Court, under the jurisdiction of Justice Eke, has issued an interim injunction order prohibiting the Imo State Government, the Attorney-General, Imo Housing Corporation, Vertex Estate Limited, and Michael Onyekachi—defendants in Suit Number HOW/83/2026—from further trespassing on the Umuocha Avu land situated along the Port Harcourt-Owerri Expressway.

This order is in effect pending the ruling on the interlocutory application scheduled for October.

The defendants had been engaged in the destruction of structures on the aforementioned land while the matter remained before the court, prompting the plaintiff’s counsel, Chukwuma Machukwu-Ume SAN, to seek the interim injunction, which was subsequently granted. The court will reconvene in October to deliver its ruling on the interlocutory application.
