Constituents Demand Retrieval Of APC Ticket From Agbasonu

Prominent figures and the youth from the Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area in Imo State have urged the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Odidika Uzodimma, to reconsider the allocation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly ticket that was awarded to Dr. Henry Agbasonu.

Dr. Agbasonu currently serves as the representative for the Ezinihitte Mbaise Constituency in the state legislature.

The constituents advocated for the ticket to be granted to an individual who truly represents the interests of the people within the Ezinihitte Mbaise Constituency.

They assert that Dr. Agbasonu has failed to adequately represent them, emphasizing that any effort to re-elect him into the House, thereby perpetuating his lackluster representation, would constitute a significant injustice to the people of Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA.

Individuals who spoke with our correspondent under the condition of anonymity alleged that Dr. Henry Agbasonu discredited the constituency by defying Governor Uzodimma and aligning with those in the House who sought to impeach the Speaker.

This action, they stated, led to Dr. Agbasonu’s suspension for six months, resulting in the absence of representation for the Ezinihitte Mbaise Constituency during that period.

They acknowledged that it was only through the paternal intervention of Governor Uzodimma that Dr. Agbasonu was reinstated to the House, preventing an extended period without representation for the Ezinihitte Mbaise Constituency.

They questioned the likelihood of him committing even more egregious errors and misjudgments should he be elected for a second term.

The constituents appealed to the Governor to rectify the situation by withdrawing the Ezinihitte Mbaise APC ticket from Dr. Agbasonu and awarding it to a candidate favored by the people of the Ezinihitte Mbaise Constituency.
