Tears, Tributes As Lady Unachukwu Is Laid To Rest

On Tuesday, 30th December 2025, the late Lady Esther Unachukwu was laid to rest amidst tears, prayers, and heartfelt tributes from her relatives, in-laws, family members, friends, church associates, and well-wishers who gathered to honor her life and legacy.

The burial ceremony began with a funeral service held at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Diocese of Ikeduru, her hometown.

The Anglican Bishop of Ikeduru, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Maduwuike, described the deceased as a virtuous and God-fearing woman whose life was characterized by humility, compassion, and service to humanity.

Bible readings, hymns, and special prayers were offered for the peaceful repose of her soul.

During the service, sons and daughters, in-laws, family members, and close associates took turns recounting Lady Unachukwu’s positive influence on their lives.

They noted her as a devoted wife, a caring mother, and a dependable pillar within her community, praising her generosity and unwavering support for those in need.

Following the church service, a cortege proceeded to the graveside for the interment at her husband’s house in Umuohii, where emotions ran high as she was committed to the earth.

Mourners openly wept as final rites were performed, bringing a solemn close to the burial.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Sir Bon Unachukwu expressed gratitude to all who traveled from afar to support them during their time of grief, describing the turnout as a testament to the impact Lady Esther Unachukwu had during her lifetime.

In his speech, Dr. Osumond Imo Ukanacho described the passing of Lady Esther Unachukwu as a painful loss, not only to her immediate family but to all who were privileged to know her.

He added that she was a woman of strength, wisdom, and quiet dignity, whose life reflected service, discipline, and deep commitment to humanity.

He continued by noting that Lady Esther Unachukwu lived a life that spoke louder than words.

Her kindness, integrity, and sense of responsibility left lasting impressions on everyone she encountered. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, the values she stood for remain alive in our hearts. He stated,

“We mourn her departure, but we also celebrate a life well-lived. May her soul rest in perfect peace, and may her legacy continue to inspire us to live with purpose and compassion.”

The burial ceremony concluded with a reception for guests at the Community Playground in Umuohii, where memories were shared, and prayers were offered as attendees reflected on a life well-lived and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire many.
