Imo Community Urges NSA To Stop Incursion Into Defunct ADC Land

The Umuejechi Community has called upon the National Security Adviser (NSA), the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), and the Commissioner of Police (CP) to intervene in preventing the unauthorized incursion into the land formerly belonging to the Agriculture Development Corporation (ADC) Nekede in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State.

This appeal was made in a statement issued on behalf of the community by their legal representative, U.B.O Okoro Obinna.

The community expressed regret that the Imo State Government has encroached upon the land, despite having lost legal battles regarding the land at both the trial and appellate court levels.

The community voiced its dismay over the fact that the state government has leased the land to a developer, who is currently dividing and building structures on it with the intention of distributing the structures among government officials and selling some to members of the public.

The community asserted that the ongoing appeal at the Supreme Court does not grant the government the right to engage in unlawful activities.

The community indicated the potential for a breakdown of law and order in the area and emphasized that, should any disturbance occur, the authorities should hold the Imo State Government accountable..
