APC, Orji Community Express Gratitude To Uzodimma For Reconstructing Health Centre
The executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Orji Ward in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, along with the elders of Orji Community, have conveyed their gratitude to the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his initiative in reconstructing the Health Centre at Umundula Orji.
This commendation was made on Friday, October 17, 2025, during a tour of the facility by the party’s executives.
During the tour, Chief Amanze C. P. Njoku, the Administrator of the Nfunala Development Initiative (formerly Orji Aborigines Development Union), praised the Apex Leader of the APC in the Owerri Zone, Prince Lemmy Akakem, for facilitating the project through his daughter and Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mrs. Chioma Egu.
The Dean of Deanry expressed the Orji Community’s sincere appreciation for the efforts of the Apex Leader and the state government in deciding to construct a new health centre for the community.
Chief Njoku, who holds the chieftaincy titles of Anyamepere Mba Owerri and Ikeoha Orji revealed that the previous health centre was completely demolished to make way for the modern facility.
Additionally, Hon. Ikechukwu Anozie, Chairman of the APC in Orji Ward also expressed his gratitude to the Apex Leader, the Commissioner for Health, and Governor Uzodimma for their decision to establish the Health Centre at Umundula Orji Community.
He disclosed that the equipment for the Health Centre had been procured and was awaiting installation upon the facility’s completion.
According to him, the Health Centre at Umundula Orji will serve as a hub for other health centres in Owerri North Local Government Area, providing them with drugs and other supplies.
In his remarks, Hon. Austin Achilike, former Transition Committee Chairman of Owerri North Local Government Area, also expressed his appreciation to Governor Uzodimma for his benevolent gesture.
He noted that the health centre would address the healthcare needs of the residents.
Hon. Achilike, however, appealed to the Governor to consider rehabilitating the access roads in the community, particularly the road leading to the health centre.
