I Was Never Arrested-Okorocha

Owelle Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo State, has refuted allegations of his arrest and subsequent bail granted on October 12 of this year.

In a statement released by his media advisor, Sam Onwuemeodo, on Tuesday, Okorocha clarified the situation.

Reports had suggested that the former governor was apprehended by police in Abuja on Monday and held for approximately one hour before being released on bail.

Okorocha asserted that these claims are unfounded and accused the Imo State Government of disseminating misinformation about him.

He highlighted that the state government has been misleading the public regarding a court order dated September 9, 2026, which was subsequently vacated by the same court on September 14.

Okorocha questioned the validity of a vacated court order remaining active and enforceable nearly a month later. He firmly maintained that there is no current court order for his arrest.

The former governor reiterated his demand for an apology from the state government for misleading the populace.
