Dibiagwu Empowers Constituents, Distributes Grants
The Member of the House of Representatives for Ohaji/Egbema Oguta/Orụ West Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwu, on Saturday distributed millions in grants to 150 members of his campaign structure, drawn from the federal constituency.
He provided N100,000 as a grant to each individual to facilitate the initiation of small-scale business enterprises, with a promise to double the amount for every thriving business in six months.
Dibiagwu, who serves as the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Regional Development, stated that these grants fulfill his commitment to enable his constituents to engage in small-scale enterprises.
He emphasized his previous empowerment initiatives within his federal constituency, which included the construction of approximately 7 kilometers of roads valued at billions of Naira, and the provision of essential amenities such as secondary and primary school blocks with solar-powered boreholes, as well as substantial conveniences in nearly all 33 wards of the federal constituency.
He said, “I am here to express my gratitude for your unwavering and steadfast support over these years of leadership, which I do not take for granted. If you are fortunate to benefit in this phase, please use these funds judiciously to establish a business. If not, please be patient; your time will come.
“My ambition is to leave an indelible impact that is not easily erased. We have implemented numerous empowerment initiatives for our people, developments worth billions of Naira. If distributed among us, each would receive at least N5 million, but basic amenities benefit everyone. Good roads bring pleasure and joy to all, and modern schools provide our children with quality education.
“Please refrain from using these funds for pleasure; instead, invest them wisely so that they may yield future returns. A supervisory committee, chaired by my Chief of Staff, Hon. Bede Ayo Anayo, will be established to oversee the utilization of these funds. Any beneficiary who achieves success in their business venture with this grant after six months will receive additional funds.”
The ceremony was attended by Hon. Gideon Meffor, Hon. Jeff Nwoha, Hon. Iyke Ùwàkwe, Hon. Nwamkpa Modestus, among others.
