Dare-devil gunmen on Tuesday shot dead the Chairman, Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State, Captain Tony Enoch.
Enoch, who was also the Coordinator of Grow Orlu Project, a political structure of the Senator-elect of the Imo West Senatorial District, Osita Izunaso was shot while returning from a meeting of stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at Omuma, the headquarters of Oru East Local Government Area.
It was gathered that the gunmen shot the party chieftain within the Awomama Technical School axis and dumped his remains in his car booth.
A source revealed that the armed men forced him to screech to a halt before pumping hot lead into his body.
The source further revealed that the killers shot him on the head at point-blank range.
It was passers-by who saw traces of blood under a parked car who raised alarm which attracted residents of the community to the scene to behold his lifeless body, the source said.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the police in the state, Henry Okoye, said that he was yet to be briefed on the murder incident.
He promised to make enquiries and get back to our correspondent but could not do so before press time.
