Abia State Governor-elect, Dr. Alex Otti has cautioned the outgoing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government in the state against inciting the people to unleash violence against the incoming Labour Party, LP administration.

Otti gave the warning in a statement issued by his spokesman, Ferdinand Ekeoma.

The governor-elect regretted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government has resorted to threats of violence and terrorism against the people since it was defeated in the March 18 governorship poll.

He cited the claim by the government that he (Otti) orchestrated the freezing of the accounts of the state government in deposit money banks when he did not know anything about the freezing to buttress his accusation of incitement against his incoming administration.

According to the governor-elect, the accusation by government was aimed at inciting workers against the incoming new administration.

Otti stated that the defeated government has continued to threaten the citizens and himself with violence for no justifiable reason other than leading the crusade that ousted it from power.

He informed that the order freezing the accounts was vacated on April 6 yet the Okezie Ikpeazu-led government has refused to pay workers still deceitfully citing the freezing order as reason for non-payment of salaries.

Otti also accused the PDP government of lying that he invited former Head of State, Gen Gowon to come to Abia State to pray at his inauguration.

While denying inviting the former Head of State, Otti said he could not have invited Gowon to a ceremony being organized by Nigeria Prayers which listed Gov Okezie Ikpeazu as chief host.
