An indigene of Taraba State, Simon Balawen has reportedly died 24 hours to his wedding ceremony at Lankaviri, Yorro Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the wedding was slated for Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the United Methodist Church, UMC.

Late Balawen who was set to tie the nuptial knot with his fiancee, Marian Abafras died on Friday, April 14 at around 11:30am.

Elder brother to the groom-to-be, Nyawen told our correspondent that Balawen on Thursday returned from work and complained of headache.

Nyawen said he told him it was a stress at work and his wife took him to a female relative who is a medical personnel who conducted high blood pressure, HBP test on him.

He further revealed that the headache persisted leading to Balawen being taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo.

According to him, at the FMC, Jalingo, it was confirmed he was having high blood pressure, (BP).issue.

Nyawen said at the hospital, the condition of the groom worsened and he suddenly died

The bride, Marian Abafras is reported to be in a state of shock following the death of Balawen.

Grief-stricken Marian said that she prefers to die along with the groom.

Hear her; “I prefer to die too so that we can be buried together, I can’t believe my husband is gone in such an embarrassing manner, just one day to our wedding, I can’t say anything but wherever he is, I will be there with him”.

Some family members and well-wishers were seen at the residence of groom on Friday looking forlon.

The wedding on Saturday, April 15 has been called off.
