The Divine Mandate Movement, ((DMM), the political structure of the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Samuel Anyanwu has commended former governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha for withdrawing from the state Governorship primary election of the party.

In a statement signed by Director of Media and Publicity, Sir Sunny Ndukwu, Anyanwu described Ihedioha’s action as a bold and courageous move aimed at rebuilding and reuniting the state chapter of the party.

He said; “We thank H/E Rt Hon Emeka Nkem Ihedioha for taking the bold and courageous step towards rebuilding and reuniting the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Imo State.

“His decision to throw in the towel is not a sign of weakness but a move geared towards ensuring that our great party, PDP reclaims the seat of power in the November 11, 2023 Guber election”.

Anyanwu extended his hand of fellowship to members of Ihedioha’s political family to support his quest to reclaim Government House, Owerri for the PDP.

Hear him; “While we advise party faithful, leaders and critical stakeholders not to take the decision of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha for granted but view it as a difficult decision any leader could take at this critical moment, which goes a long way to prove that Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha is a true sportsman who puts the interest of the party first.

“The Divine Mandate Movement seizes this opportunity to extend its olive branch to members and critical stakeholders of the Ihedioha Rebuild Imo Team as well as the Ihedioha Reelection Movement for partnership in the project of reclaiming Imo Douglas House come November 2023.

“In view of this development, the leadership of Divine Mandate Movement calls on our PDP members to remain committed and focused, as we work towards uniting the party ahead of the Governorship polls”.
