The Tactical Screening Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday cleared the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu for the Imo Governorship election.

The committee chaired by former Governor of Benue State, Senator Gabriel Suswan expressed satisfaction with documents presented by Senator Anyanwu.

Suswan said his committee was pleased and satisfied with the sterling record of achievements of the National Secretary

According to him, Senator Anyanwu needs no further investigation after he had undergone series of screenings including security checks and came out cleared before he was elected the PDP National Secretary.

He further commended Senator Anyanwu’s humility and loyalty to PDP, noting that his commitment, dedication and leadership input to the party will never be over emphasized.

Recall that Senator Anyanwu represented Imo East Senatorial District between 2015 and 2019.

Before then, he served as two-time member of the Imo State House of Assembly and Chairman, Ikeduru Local Government Area.

He was Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions.

He lost the 2018 Imo State Governorship primary poll of the PDP to three-time member and former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha who won the 2019 Governorship poll but later lost the seat to Senator Hope Uzodimma at the Supreme Court in 2020.
