The body of renowned compere and Labour Party candidate for Okigwe Constituency, Irouno Chukwuonye will be buried on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at his hometown, Ndiogbuonyeoma Ndibeuche, Aro-Amuro Autonomous Community, Okigwe Local Government Area, Imo State.
The interment is holding four months after his death last December.
According to a statement signed by Irouno Unique Izuchukwu, the burial would be preceded by a funeral Mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Ndiogbuonyeoma.
Izuchukwu urged friends and well-wishers to join the family in according their last respect to the late master of ceremonies.
The statement reads; “It is finally real! What a life!
“Late Hon. Irouno Chukwunonye, the people’s Govano will be laid to rest on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.
“He will be laid to rest, 11:00am at his home, Mazi Aracharammanu’s compound, Ndiogbuonyeoma, Ndibeuche, Aro-Amuro Autonomous Community, Okigwe LGA, Imo State after the funeral mass that will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Ndiogbuonyeoma.
“The song has indeed ended, but the tune will live on in our hearts forever.”
Izuchukwu prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Chukwuonye even as he assured him that the family he left behind is being taken care of by God.
Recall that Irouno Chukwuonye died on December 5, 2022 after watching a World Cup match between Croatia and Japan.
It is suspected that he died of cardiac arrest exacerbated by high blood pressure.
