Hoodlums on Saturday destroyed electoral materials in Akate Ward in Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State.
An indigene, James Chimin told our correspondent that hoodlums invaded the distribution point in Akate at 6:30 am where electoral materials were to be dispatched to the various polling units.
Chimin said;”At around 6:30 am, we started hearing gun shots. Little did we know that it was the election materials that the thugs came to destroy.
“I want to tell you that there is no election in Akate Ward as I speak to you, because even the electoral officers have to scamper for their safety, and it only took the intervention of the security.
“Meanwhile, Akate is the stronghold of Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha, candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC”.
Akate Ward has 29 polling unit.
At the time of filling this report, the electoral officers havd run to only God knows where..
