A Public Relations impressairo, Dr.Chuks Osuji has died.
He died on Wednesday, March 15 at his residence in Ikenegbu Layout Owerri, Imo State capital after a brief illness.
He was aged 86 years.
Dr. Osuji, a former Director of the Mass Mobilization for Social and Economic Reconstruction, MAMSER in Imo State hailed from Ihitteaforukwu in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
He wrote about 25 books, 13 of which were written when he had become visually impaired.
Dr. Osuji taught briefly at the Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Owerri upon completion of his Ph.D studies in the United States of America.
He served as a Special Adviser to the National Chairman of the Nigeria People’s Party, NPP, Solomon Lar.
Dr. Osuji founded and managed a public relations outfit, Opinion Research and Communication Company in Owerri till his death.
His demise has triggered an avalanche of grief in the state.
His friend, Afam Echi described his demise as very painful more so coming before he could complete his autobiography.
Afam, a journalist said he would sorely miss Dr. Osuji particularly his wisecracks.
He wrote in a Facebook post; “I will miss him. Who will call me ‘Nwa m” again. Who will throw those rib cracking jokes, who will speak those deep Igbo parables. There is no two Chuks Osuji. Chai, I am in deep pains”.
Dr. Osuji was honoured by the federal government with the Member of the Order of the Niger.
He was prolific writer who wrote for both national and local newspapers.
