The Labour Party, LP, has denied the existence of a faction in its Imo State chapter.
The party maintained that rather than polarization, the state chapter of the party is intact.
The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the party in the state, Festus Onyekwulisi offered the clarification in a statement on Friday.
He said the caretaker committee is the legitimate leadership of party appointed by the national leadership to superintend the party in Imo State after the dissolution of Ambrose Onyekwere-led executive.
He disclosed that the Onyekwere-led executive was dissolved after the expiration of its tenure and the caretaker committee appointed on March 6.
According to Onyekwulisi, the court order on March 10 for the status quo to be maintained confirms the authenticity of the caretaker committee.
He therefore urged members of the party to ignore the diversionary tactics of those who are yet to recover from the shock of the defeat of their presidential candidates in the February 25 poll.
The party chairman said the party was not unaware of the presence of subversive elements and moles planted to cause confusion and distract the party from recording resounding success at the March 18 House of Assembly polls in the state.
He however assured that the moles and subversive elements would be dealt with according to the constitution of the party.
