As the Saturday, March 18 State Houses of Assembly poll approaches, notable politicians in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State have reportedly thrown their weight behind the candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Engr. Chima Akuzie.
Information reaching National Newsbreak has it that the candidate of the Labour Party for Okigwe Senatorial Zone in the National Assembly election. Hon. Ifeanyi Ararume Jnr and the candidate of the same party for Okigwe North Federal Constituency, Chief Chikwem Onuoha are now drumming support for Akuzie.
It was also gathered that the former House of Representatives member and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Okigwe North Federal Constituency in the last election, Engr. Obinna Onwubuariri is also lending his support for the ADC candidate.
Our source also hinted that more political bigwigs will soon pledge their support for the candidate in the days ahead, describing Akuzie as a divine project
The source who does not want his name in print further disclosed that the development has sent devastating and palpable fear down the spines of other candidates.
According to him, since weekend, Akuzie has been bombarded with calls from some notable leaders in the constituency with most of them pledging unalloyed support to his political ambition.
“Since weekend, Chima Akuzie has been receiving calls from leaders of note from Isiala Mbano over the support he is receiving from Ifeanyi Ararume Jnr, Chief Chikwem Onouha and Engr Obinna Onwubuariri and others. In fact other candidates are now afraid of him”.
