The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has urged the people of Imo State to come out en masse to elect the candidates of the party.
The Governorship/Houses of Assembly polls will hold on Saturday, March 18, 2023. However, governorship election is holding in Imo State on November 11, 2023.
Anyanwu, in a statement issued by his media aide, Ikenna Onuoha said the covenant between the PDP and Imolites is still held in high esteem, adding that the assembly election is another opportunity to renew and rekindle the vow.
He regretted that votes given to PDP by Imo citizens during the Presidential and National Assembly elections were stolen by APC, and appealed to them to replicate the same love for the party.
According to him, Imo people could recall how communities, local government areas and the three geopolitical zones in the state were in peace during PDP administration.
He admonished the citizens to vote massively for PDP to be able to restore peace in the state.
While advising them not to allow personal misunderstanding with any of the party’s candidate to affect their love for PDP, he charged them not to be discouraged with the outcome of the last election due to alleged INEC complicit in the manipulation of results.
