The Imo State Government has given a 72-hour ultimatum to illegal occupants of its general hospitals to exit from the property in their own interest.

The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Prosper Ohayagha Success gave the ultimatum in a statement dated March 6, 2023.

Dr. Success said government was retaking possession of the general hospitals to enable it renovate them and serve the people properly.

He frowned at the unlawful appropriation of government-owned general hospitals by some individuals thereby hindering the ongoing renovation programme of such facilities by government.

The commissioner warned members of the public against encroachment and illegal occupation of government general hospitals.

He regretted the defiance of one Dr. Richard Nwachukwu who he said has illegally occupied the General Hospital, Amiri.

Dr. Success insisted that there is no letter from the government ceding the General Hospital, Amiri to Dr. Nwachukwu.

The commissioner said Dr. Nwachukwu and other illegal occupants of the government general hospitals have only three days to vacate or have themselves to blame.
