The member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Chike John Okafor has expressed gratitude to God for coming out of an assassination attempt unscathed.
Okafor asserted that his miraculous survival was because God had not predestined that the teeth of blood hounds should feast on his flesh.
Dare-devils had on Thursday, February 23, 2023 opened fire on his convoy as they headed to his home at Oke Community in Obowo LGA of Imo State after wrapping his ward-to-ward campaign in Ihitte/Uboma LGA.
Okafor and two serving commissioners in the state were in the convoy but none of them was hit by the assassins’ bullets which however devastated their vehicles.
The federal legislator who is also the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the Saturday, February 25 National Assembly poll said; : “Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth;
“(My)soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers, the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
“Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth(Psalms 124:6-8)”.
