Imo State Government says the reconstruction of Road Safety-Toronto-Orji Road and Toronto-Uzoagba Road will be completed within four months.
The state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma made the promise on Tuesday at the flag-off of the roads.
The flag off comes few days after President Muhammadu Buhari commissioned the MCC/Uratta Road executed by the Uzodimma administration.
The governor assured that the roads will be commissioned in June this year, adding that he does not believe in talking too much.
According to him, he only believes that his performance will speak for him.
The governor pleaded with the people to cooperate with the contractor, noting that what makes a good leader is one who makes life more bearable to the people.
He urged the people to continue to support his administration, which he said, is committed to the welfare of the Imo people.
He however maintained that his government is constructing the roads so as to make Owerri a befitting state capital in Nigeria, insisting that outside the construction of roads in the capital city, he is equally paying attention to rural roads.
Earlier, leaders of Owerri North LGA led by Prince Lemmy Akakem and Chief Henry Njoku thanked the Governor for what they described as his marvelous work particularly in Owerri North and Owerri zone.
They promised to continue to support his government.
They disclosed that Owerri zone people are happy with the governor, assuring that the people will cooperate with the contractor to deliver the job.
In his speech, the contracting form, Leo9 promised to deliver the road on schedule.
The company expressed gratitude to the governor for reposing so much confidence in them.
