The management of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri has been called upon to jettison further probe into the case of Okoroafor Ogechi Sharon, the lady who claimed to have graduated from the institution through the instrumentality of her private part.
Her Attorney, Ikechukwu Nwopara made the call in a letter dated February 3, 2023 and addressed to the Rector, Michael Arimanwa.
Nwopara argued that the probe into the matter should have been discontinued after his client had offered the alibi of ‘slip of tongue’ and tendered unreserved apology to the polytechnic, family members and friends.
He submitted that further probe could unearth unsavoury details.
Nwopara wrote;”We had thought that by now particularly after our client’s “slip of tongue” clarifications and apology, the school ought to have allowed the sleeping dog to lie on this matter considering its sensitivity and the outrage it has so far generated(my candid advice/opinion) because “He or She that washes the dirty wrapper of an old woman must be ready to come in contact with stains of urine and faeces”.
The attorney’s stance comes in the wake of a second invite by the polytechnic for Sharon to appear before its disciplinary panel on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
She had earlier appeared before a management committee of the polytechnic presided over by the rector, which grilled her on her viral video circulating in the internet.
