The management of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri has launched a probe into a claim made an ex-student of the institution that she graduated by the help of God and her private part.
In a statement signed by the Registrar, Mrs. E. C. Anuna, the institution expressed dismay that the said graduate could link God to her deleterious act.
The said ex-student is reported to have gloated on TikTok about how she graduated with the help of the Almighty God and her bottom power.
The management of the polytechnic considers the claim as unacceptable and preposterous, pointing out that the institution prides itself as a citadel of learning and moral standards.
According to the polytechnic, its members of staff and students are aware of the consequences of indulgence in any illicit deals.
It disclosed that it had through its various disciplinary committees released hot lines through which students could report any act of exploitation or corruption.
The management added that these committees have been diligent in ensuring that any member of staff or student found culpable is meted with appropriate disciplinary measures.
It noted that the despicable post of the ex-student is at variance with the standard of the institution.
The management promised to make its findings public on completion of investigation.
The statement reads in part; “The despicable post of this supposed student does not therefore represent the standard of our institution. The Rector of the institution, being a clergyman, has been very committed and consistent in instilling discipline in our students through seminars, Solemn Assemblies, sensitization outreaches and publications.
“When our investigations are over, we shall make our findings and pronouncements public. It is in our purview to ensure that only students found worthy in learning and character are certified. This is a commitment to which we shall remain consistently resolute”.
