Confab Advocates Election Of Credible NASS Members

Participants of a virtual conference tagged The Incoming-An Ecclesiastical Political Movement of Nigeria (EPOMON) event held on Saturday, January 28 have called on Nigerians to ensure only credible persons were elected in the National Assembly.

The participants, in a communiqué signed by Prince Joseph Nwosu-Okorie (Convener); John Chudi Davids Okafor and Uche Aso said the sensitive position of members of the National Assembly could make or mar the performance of the next president of the country.

They observed that the work to fix Nigeria must start in earnest in reorienting children in primary schools.

The conference which had the theme;”The Enemy Called Apathy” regretted that moral and cultural decadence had already eaten deep into all facets of the society.

The conference organized by Reformers Initiative and Prince Joseph Care Initiative agreed that the leadership of the church has failed in its social and moral responsibilities.

According to the participants, the country is suffering at present from dearth of conscientious and forthright clergy who could speak truth to power.

The participants resolved to join forces to ensure no form of apathy was recorded at any stage of the political process.

EPOMON seeks to ensure that only credible, capable and competent persons are elected into political offices as well as hold elected leaders accountable throughout their tenure.
