The Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, has said the Northern youths who stoned the convoy of the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi were misguided as they should rather have aimed the stones at their leaders including President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the National President of OYC, Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, the northern leadsers deserved the stones for impoverishing and denying their youths formal education.
Igboayaka asserted that the youths were instigated by politicians in Kastina, Sokoto, Gombe, Kano and Kaduna who had deprived the youths basic education in order to keep them in perpetual slavery.
Igboayaka said;”It’s very ironical that those that attacked Peter Obi are those he has planned to lift out of poverty, both intellectual and material poverty.
“The incident that happened to Peter Obi is an evidence of political brainwashing going on in some Northern states by selfish and wicked politicians to create more Almajiris.
“Most Northern teenagers and youths are deliberately denied education by politicians in the North, with a view to keeping them as beggars and shoe shiners, while the same Northern governors, senators, ministers, House of Representatives members, state Houses of Assembly members, directors in federal and state agencies send their own children to the best schools in world.
“Recent statistics shows that illiteracy in Nigeria is more rampant in the Northern states, as incited by some Northern leaders. It’s obvious that those that stoned Peter Obi missed their target which should be the some Northern past and present presidents starting from President Muhammadu Buhari, state governors, senators etc.
¹The attack on Peter Obi should throw every progressive minded person in the North to reflect and meditate on why illiteracy is higher in Northern Nigeria than Southern Nigeria even after being the region that produces most heads of state and presidents of Nigeria since 1960
