The Imo State Police Command has promised to unravel the murderers of the Sole Administrator of Ideato North Local Government Area of the state, Chris Ohizu with a view to bringing them to book.
The command made the promise in a statement issued by its spokesman, Henry Okoye.
.Okoye disclosed that the state Commissioner of Police, CP, Mohammed Ahmed Barde had inaugurated a high-powered investigation team which has commenced technical investigation into the matter.
Okoye further disclosed that the command’s tactical team had been on the trail of the hoodlums since they kidnapped the council boss on Friday, January 20 and was making tremendous progress before the video of his execution surfaced online.
The spokesman therefore urged the people of Ideato North Local Government Area and the public to remain calm and go about their legitimate businesses without fear of molestation.
Okoye said the police and other security agencies are working hard to ensure adequate security was provided in the area and no such incident occurs again.
He also advised members of the public to supply the police with credible information on the activities of hoodlums in the area.
