Nigeria recorded several celebrity breakups in the year 2022. As at the last count, a total of 14 marriages of celebrities packed up during the year.
Comedian, Julius Agwu and his wife, Ibiere went their separate ways, while one of the P-Square twins, Paul divorced his wife, Anita.
The marriage between dancer, Korra Obidi and medical doctor, Justin Dean also hit the rocks. So were the marriages between Funke Akindele, governorship running mate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State and JJC; Orise Femi and Nabila Fash; Kaffy and Joseph Ameh; Gideon Okeke and Chidera; and Saint Obi and Lydia.
The rest were the marriages between Jeruma and Ross Isabor; Dotun and Omotayo; Skales and Precious and Shina Rambo and wife.
Infidelity is usually a factor that causes broken marriages. Sometimes, failed marriages could be caused by the couples having divergent lifestyles or pursuing different careers.
Whenever a marriage breaks up, the products of the union usually hold the end of the short stick especially if they are still tender in age.
Celebrity marriage breakups seem to be on the rise. Observers posit that many of them live fake lives which one of the partners may find distasteful.
Again, it doesn’t usually take long before the partners discover the empty rich and glamorous facades some of them exhibit and storm out of the union.
