The Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma on Tuesday presented to the state House of Assembly a 2023 fiscal proposal of N474, 466, 278, 267. 00 for consideration and approval.

The proposal has N100,904, 685, 427.73 as recurrent expenditure while the capital expenditure stands at N373,562,190,839.75, representing 78.7 percent of the total fiscal proposal.

Presenting the fiscal proposal christened ‘Budget of Wealth Expansion’, Gov Uzodimma said the major policy thrust is to extend the created wealth to Imolites living in the hinterlands.

This, he said, will be done through the provision of infrastructural facilities such as roads, health centres, education, security, creation of jobs and human capital development.

The governor listed some of the achievements of his administration in 2022 to include construction of roads/roundabouts with street lights and procurement of vehicles for civil servants as well as the renovation of the Imo State House of Assembly complex.

In his welcome address, the Speaker of the House, Emeka Nduka lauded the governor for providing good governance, tackling insecurity and empowerment of Imo youths.

Reacting, some of the members of the House namely Amara Iwuanyanwu and Crown Michael Njoku, Eddy Obinna, Ngozi Obiefule, Uju Onwudiwe, Johnson Duru and Philip Ejiogu poured encomiums on the governor for demonstrating capacity and leadership in the state within three years in office.
