Imo State Commissioner for Tourism, Chief Jerry Egemba has hailed the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma as the most intelligent and the wisest governor of the state, who understands and wields power properly.
Egemba, a lawyer spoke when the APC Wise Men For Hope paid him a solidarity visit at his office in Owerri, the state capital.
APC Wise Men for Hope is composed of former officials of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who cross-carpeted to the APC to assist the governor govern the state.
The commissioner said, “We were all officers of the PDP at the state and at the LGA but nevertheless members of Imo State Executive Council of PDP.
“We elected to abandon our various offices in the PDP to join Governor Uzodimma to become members of APC so that we can support him and appreciate him as the best governor Imo could have.
“We identified the present governor as one that knows the road; we didn’t make any mistake by our decision because today Imo is better off with him.
“We wonder what Imo would have been like in security if we didn’t have Governor Uzodimma in office. I can say that Imo has the privilege of having the most intelligent and the wisest governor it could ever have. But for him, many would have died due to insecurity”.
Egemba added, “On issues of governance, we realize that Governor Hope Uzodimma knows what power is all about and how to deploy it for the benefit of Imo people.
“He was able to understand the critical infrastructure Imo people needed and he provided them as in Owerri to Orlu, Owerri to Okigwe, and Owerri to Umuahia roads. He has done so much in erosion control”
The commissioner charged the group to sustain its support for Governor Uzodimma and promised not to disappoint the group.
Earlier, leader of the group, Chief Leo De Great Awaziama commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for appointing Barr Jerry Egemba into his cabinet.
Awaziama charged the commissioner to lift tourism in Imo State to an enviable height.
Members of the group who also spoke namely Hon. Ahanonu William Aburi, Nnorom Nnadi Charles and Architect MacAnthony Iwuoha also urged the commissioner to develop the tourism potentials of the state.
They urged him to develop the banks of Nworie River, the Nworie-Otamiri Confluence and Ugwuele in Okigwe as well as the Abadaba Lake.
