The Director of Contact and Mobilization of Imo State PDP Support and Volunteer Groups, Mazi Franklin Ngoforo, has explained that his involvement in revamping the support groups was informed by his conviction that the injustice meted out to the party in the state must be redressed.
He spoke to journalists after the inauguration of no fewer than seventy support groups loyal to the PDP at the secretariat of the party in Owerri on Wednesday.
Ngoforo vowed that nothing will be left undone to ensure that PDP wins all elections in the state next year.
According to him, Imo people have become aware that the only way to return the state to the path of progress is to stand solidly behind the PDP.
His words, “The failure of governance is Imo has reached an intolerable height. This cannot continue. Worse still, the people in power today came through the most unjust manner.
“We have therefore set the process in motion to mobilize Imo people using the various support groups to correct the injustice against our party by sacking the APC from our state. This we must achieve. No effort will be spared.
“The inauguration we had today, the high point of which was the launch of the Take Back Imo Project, marks the beginning of the victory of PDP in the state.
“With the support groups which have now been rejigged, Imo PDP is unarguably thick with overwhelming membership, and victory is certain.
“It is exciting that Imo people understand and deeply appreciate the accomplishments of our party, hence their decision to join the party in droves through nearly one hundred support groups.
“While in power in this state, our party brought fiscal discipline to governance, restored autonomy of the local government system, created a better life for our people, secured lives and property, reinvented agricultural productivity, rolled out lofty mass housing initiatives and revived sports. Today, Imo is the shadow of itself. This is pathetic”.
The Ideato-born industrialist and real estate giant assured that he will continue to deploy his intellect and material resources towards working for the victory of the party at all levels.
He said the success of the inauguration of the support is a testimony to the extent which he and his team members have decided to go in order to return PDP back to power.
