The Council of Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Students has urged security agents to unravel killers of Prince Chidi Iheme, elder brother to Osita Iheme, the Nollywood star popularly known as Pawpaw with a view to bringing them to book.
Chidi was murdered on Friday, December 9, 2022 by unknown gunmen at Ubomiri Community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.
The students insisted that the dastardly act should not be swept under the carpet.
The students also prayed for the speedy recovery of the state Commissioner for Mines and Solid Minerals, Martins Eke who was injured during the attack on the deceased.
In a statement, the Chairman, Council of Mbaike Students, Chukwuma Kingsley described the killing as not only despicable and barbaric, but also a bad signal ahead of the 2023 elections.
Chukwuma described Mbaitoli/Ikeduru as peaceful areas and admonished leaders in the two local government areas to continue to sustain the peaceful atmosphere both in their political and business dealings.
He further charged people of Mbaitoli/Ikeduru to be security conscious by identifying strange individuals within their environment.
Chukwuma appealed to security agents to immediately investigate the incident and bring the masterminds to book.
Chukwuma described the late Prince Chidi Iheme as a peacemaker whose interest was to put smiles on the people.
He also identified Hon Martins Eke as an excellent extrovert that should not have sustained any harm.
While consoling those he left behind, the students expressed bitterness over the wicked killing of one of their strongest youth supporter by unscrupulous elements, and prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
