The two expatriates who were kidnapped in Imo State on Friday, December 9 have regained their freedom.

The foreigners who work with German construction Giants, Craneburg were kidnapped along the Owerri-Okigwe Expressway which is undergoing reconstruction.

Our correspondent gathered that the expatriates were rescued by a joint team of security men on Sunday.

The victims were presented to Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma on Monday morning at Government House, Owerri.

Governor Uzodimma said government is leaving no stone unturned in securing the lives and property of the citizens.

Recall that gunmen shot and killed two policemen and one soldier in the state on same day the expatriates were whisked away.

Also, Prince Chidi Iheme, a supporter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was shot dead same Friday, December 9 at Ubomiri Community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state.

Chidi was the elder brother to Nollywood star, Osita Iheme popularly known as Pawpaw.
