Armed bandits on Friday, December 9 shot and killed Prince Chidi Theme, elder brother to Osita Iheme, popularly known as Pawpaw in Nollywood.

Our correspondent gathered that the incident took place at Amawuihe Autonomous Community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.

The gunmen, who are reported to be enforcing the sit-at-home order declared by a factional Indigenous People of Biafrans, IPOB led by Simon Ekpa also wounded the state Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Prince Martin Eke.

Our source disclosed that Eke is at present receiving treatment at a hospital.

Both Iheme and Ekeh were riding in same vehicle when they were attacked by the gunmen.

Meanwhile, the 2023 House of Representatives candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC for Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency, Akarachi Amadi has condemned the murder of Chidi Iheme.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Irobi Darlington, Amadi described the death of Iheme, a supporter of the APC as a personal loss.

He also decried the deadly attack on the state Commissioner.

Amadi prayed God to grant Iheme’s family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The APC candidate also prayed for Eke’s quick, promising to do all things possible to enable the commissioner come back to his feet.
