Seventeen of the 27 local government area chairmen of the party were said to have been instigated by a top-ranking party official from Imo State to pass a vote of no confidence in the Ugwu-led executive.

The top-ranking official also reportedly requested the party’s NEC via a memo for the immediate dissolution of the Imo PDP executive.

Political watchers say normalcy has now fully returned to the Okigwe Road Owerri Secretariat of the party.

According to them, the party has by the decision saved itself a major legal crisis, which could have thrown it into disarray.

It was also gathered that the party refused to upturn the Presidential Campaign Council list as empanelled by the Charles Ugwuh led State Working Committee.

It rather referred the list to the Vice-Presidential candidate of the party, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who is expected to come up with a decision on the unceasing whimpers of the camp of the top-ranking official.
