The 15th anniversary of Easternnews Newspapers originally scheduled for September 30 is now to hold November 25, 2022.
A statement signed by the Secretary of the Organizing Committee, Annabelle Duruibe gave the venue of the occasion to be Teachers House, (NUT Secretariat) Port Harcourt Road, Owerrii, Imo State.
The statement said the Commissioner of Police Imo State, CP, Mohammed Barde will deliver the anniversary lecture entitled, “The Role of the Press, Security Agents, Bench & Bar in a Democratic Dispensation.”
The occasion will also feature conferment of awards on Nigerians who have made meaningful contributions to the development of the society.
The statement named the awardees as Governors of Imo and Enugu states, Senator Hope Uzodimma and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi respectively.
Others are Minister of State, Education, Goodluck Nnanna Opia; National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy), Hon Jerry Alagbaoso, Prof. Chisimchere Obika, Justice Paschal Nnadi and Prof AU Awuzie, former Vice Chancellor of the Imo State University, Owerri.
The rest are Mr . Frank Nneji, Mrs Ruby Emele, HRM Eze Dr BC Onuoha, Eze Prof Peter Ebigbo, Eze Edward Njoku, Eze Prof Dele Ebigbo, Eze Sampson Igwe, Rev Njoku Nwansi, Chief Ford Ozurumba and Barr Philip Ibekwe.
