The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has denied working for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He declared the allegation made by two PDP groups against him as false and misleading.
An Owerri-based newspaper had published a story in which two groups namely PDP New Generation and PDP Good Governance Forum alleged that Senator Anyanwu was working for the APC.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Ikenna Onuoha, Anyanwu described himself as an unrepentant member, leader and critical stakeholder of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and as such, has nothing to do with a confused party like the APC.
He added that his outstanding contributions to the growth of the PDP led to his election as the party’s National Secretary.
According to him, his election as National Secretary is a reward for dedication, commitment and leadership by example which only true members of PDP could receive.
He dismissed as petty, childish and idiotic for a sane person or group of persons to insinuate or peddle falsehood that a man who occupies the second most powerful position in PDP will abandon his party to work for APC that is on the verge of collapse.
Anyanwu said he is fighting to rescue PDP in Imo state from the hands of serial and chronic political contractors who are holding the party at the jugular to avoid the PDP losing the 2023 elections in the state.
While saying his patriotic service to the party is a threat to selfish and desperate political fraudsters, he submitted he is currently the highest sponsor of PDP in Imo State.
He challenged those he described as masqueraders and blackmailers behind the allegation to make public their contributions to the party in spite of having benefitted immensely from the PDP.
