A former governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha has emerged as the Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organization for Imo State. 

His emergence was announced at a stakeholders’ meeting of the party held Sunday at the party’s state secretariat in Owerri. 

Speaking at the meeting, State Chairman of the party, Charles Ugwu disclosed that the party is set to record resounding victories in the elections.

Ugwu, while commending members of the party for their sacrifices and resilience, charged them to continue to work for the party. 

In his remarks, the State Secretary, Ray Emeana, noted that the Presidential Campaign Council has approved the list of the State’s Presidential Campaign Organization as well as the Management Committee with former Governor, Emeka Ihedioha and former State PDP Chairman, Barr. Charles Ezekwem as Chairman and Director respectively.

The announcement of Ihedioha as Chairman was greeted with ovation by party members who began singing solidarity song for the party’s victory. 

Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of the PDP Watchdog, Uju Nkasi congratulated the party for the choice of Ihedioha and Ezekwem, adding that PDP is on the right track for victory.

 Ihedioha governed Imo State for seven months between May 29, 2019 and January 14, 2020.

The Supreme Court sacked him on January 14, 2020 and enthroned Senator Hope Uzodimma as duly governor of the state.
