PDP Nat’l Secretary Urges Buhari To Grant Ex-Minister’s Last Wish

Presdent Muhammadu Buhari has been called upon to grant the last wish of the First Republic Aviation Minister, Pa Mbazulike Amechi by releasing the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Sen. Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu made the call in a statement made available to National Newsbreak on Thursday.

According to Sen. Anyanwu; ” Pa Mbazulike Amechi died without achieving his desired goal, which was to ensure the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Kanu has been in detention at the cell of the Department of State Service, DSS, since 2021 after his arrest in Kenya and extraordinary rendition to Nigeria by the Federal Government

Anyanwu who represented Imo East Senatorial District at the National Assembly between 2015 and 2019 therefore appealed to President Buhari to grant the last wish of the elder statesman.

Describing Pa Mbazulike Amechi as a hero, Anyanwu stated that he would be remembered for living an exemplary life that worthy of emulation.

He described the demise of the former Aviation Minister as a great loss to the nation and the Igbo race.

The former Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions prayed God to grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the heavy loss.

He also prayed that God rewards the good works of Pa Mbazulike Amechi while forgiving his failings and bless those he left behind.
