The women in Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta/Oru West Federal Constituency have vowed to truncate efforts at reelecting the member representing the constituency at the House of Representatives, Uju Chima Kingsley.
The leader of the women, Ijeoma Ekeanyanwu said in her address at a meeting held on Tuesday that Uju abandoned the constituency to the extent that there is no motorable road or portable water or any proof of youth empowerment.
Ekeanyanwu added that Uju also did not think it necessary to open a constituency office where the people could consult him.
She described the emergence of Eugene Dibiagwu as candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 poll in the constituency as divine and a welcome development.
According to her, the candidacy of Dibiagwu has provided to the women the opportunity to elect a caring and result-oriented person who would cater for their well-being.
She noted with delight that majority of the women in the area are card-carrying members of the APC and would ensure the party wins all elections in the constituency.
Responding, Dibiagwu expressed his profound gratitude to the women for opting to vote for him and other candidates of the party during the forthcoming general elections.
The APC candidate vowed not to disappoint the federal constituency, saying he would do all within his power to uplift the constituency.
Dibiagwu reeled out his achievements in the constituency to include financing the building of worship centres, provision of shelters, jobs and scholarship to indigenes of the area.
Present at the meeting were Temple Okonji, Nneka Oduenyi, Felix Uba and Kassidy Ohamara.
Uju was elected in 2019 on the platform of the Action Alliance (AA) but later decamped to the APC. He has however dumped the APC for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on which platform he is seeking reelection.
He served the former governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha as deputy chief of staff (operations)
