A former Councillor for Egwe/Egbuoma Ward and Supervisor for Works, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, Uche Chukwudi has accused his kinsman, Casmir Ezenwaka of threatening to eliminate him.
Chukwudi popularly called “Iyi” of Egbuoma disclosed that Ezenwaka, Nkeonye Okeke, Kerian Ughammadu and others he could not identify made attempt on his life on October 11, 2022 along Egbu/Chukwuma Nwoha Road, Owerri.
According to him, Ezenwaka and other driving in a red Jeep tried double-crossing his own vehicle in motion, but he outsmarted them owing to the high capacity of his vehicle, a Tundra truck.
He revealed that Casmir started threatening him when he opposed his powers to sack Egbuoma women leader and dissolve Egbuoma Progressive Union as well as become the Chairman, Community Electricity Committee.
According to Chukwudi,”Casmir had added him on a WhatsApp platform where he opted for a peace meeting to be held in their community, but was surprised to observe that those behind the meeting were enemies of Egbuoma Community.
He said it was for this reason, he boycotted the meeting yet Ezenwaka went ahead to claim that they have dissolved Egbuoma Progressive Union.
Chukwudi further disclosed that he reported the development to the Local Government Area Sole Administrator (SOLAD) who condemned their action and directed that the status quo be maintained.
He said; “Casmir has been threatening to use his boys to kill me until I escaped his hot chase on that fateful 11th October, 2022. And I have reported the case at the Nigeria Police Area Command, Owerri for investigation”.
When contacted through telephone, Casmir Ezenwaka denied the allegation, stating that Uche Chukwudi is not happy that he is heading the Egbuoma Electricity Re-installation Committee.
