The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has felicitated with the former Governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa on the occasion of his 74th birthday anniversary.
Anyanwu described Chief Udenwa as an urbane leader, a patriot, a nationalist and an elder statesman of high repute.
Anyanwu popularly known as Samdaddy noted in a statement signed by his media aide, Ikenna Onuoha that the story of Imo state cannot be told without reference to Udenwa’s verifiable achievements.
Hear him, “Chief Achike Udenwa (Onwa Imo) is one politician others struggle to emulate. As a governor, he galvanized the state, operated an all-inclusive administration and ensured that the state was free from insecurity and economic backwardness”
Senator Anyanwu recalled that Imo people experienced the best and most viable administration in the state during Udenwa’s government.
The Senator who represented Imo East District between 2015 and 2019 added that PDP under Udenwa as governor did not only empower.the citizens but also enthroned social sanity.
While congratulating him for clocking 74, Anyanwu prayed God to continue to sustain him with wisdom and sound and excellent health to fulfill his dreams.
Udenwa governed Imo State on the platform of the PDP for two terms of eight years between 1999 and 2007.
He handed over to Chief Ikedi Ohakim of the Progressive People’s Alliance, PPA, who, two years into his administration cross-carpeted to the PDP.
