Scores of youths of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Imo East Senatorial District (Owerri Zone), on Friday, assured the party’s Senatorial candidate, Prince Alex Mbata and other candidates of the party of resounding victory in the forthcoming general elections in the zone.
The youths spoke at an interactive and strategic session with Prince Mbata and other key leaders of the party in the zone held at the campaign office of the APC Imo East Senatorial candidate in Owerri.
The youths led by Zonal Youth Leader, Lucky Akwiti, described Prince Mbata, as a man who has the capacity to lead the APC to victory in the zone.
In his speech, Prince Mbata said the time has come for Owerri zone to be liberated from the grips of those who have under represented it for many years.
He said; “This is the time to act. This is the time to retake our zone. I remain confident of victory in the elections, but we must work together to achieve or realize it.
“Our success depends on all of us. What is due to the youths of Owerri zone will not elude them when I become senator. We need to change the narrative in our zone.
“The people of Owerri zone have suffered enough and we cannot continue this way. I have what it takes to represent the zone for the good of our people. And together we shall march to success and attain victory.
“I have already demonstrated my passion for the good of the people of the zone even before I decided to aspire for public office. I had built roads in Owerri, invested over N500m to empower men, women, youths of Owerri zone before I made up my mind to run for public office”.
In his speech, the APC youth leader for Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, Chinedu Amaechi, described Prince Mbata as an acceptable choice of the people, assuring of the willingness of the youths in the zone to ensure victory for the party.
In his remarks, the APC Owerri Zone Zonal leader, Justin Ogu urged the youths of the party to close ranks and work for the success of Prince Mbata and other candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections in Owerri zone.
Other APC youth leaders present at the event were Franklin Gentle Ogbonna (Ezinihitte Mbaise), Uwandu Chibuzor (Mbaitoli), Moses Ubochi (Ikeduru), Hon Chidi Anakwu (Ngor Okpala), Hon Ogechi Ebegu (Aboh Mbaise), Hon Jeffta Peters ( Owerri West), Hon Patrick Okoroafor (Owerri Municipal), Arch Asonye Kingsley (Owerri North).
The event also had in attendance youth coordinators of PAM in all the wards and local governments, including notable chieftains of the party such as former Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly and DG, PAMDM, Rt. Hon Godfrey Dikeocha, Chief Chris Ogonous Okoro, Hon Dan Iwuorie; State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Cajethan Duke, APC House of Assembly candidate for Owerri North, Kelechi Ofurum, Mr. Ben Mbata, Hon Ezenwa and other chieftains of the party in Owerri zone.
