Traditional rulers from Ebenese land in Ideato South Local Government Area of Imo State have called on Hon Victor Nwanaforo to jettison his ambition and allow Hon Paschal Obi to have a second term at the House of Representatives.
Hon Obi currently represents Ideato North/South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
The traditional rulers made the call in a communique issued after a crucial meeting with Ebenese Development Forum held on October 5, 2022 at the palace of HRH Eze P. E. Ewuzie, traditional ruler of Umuaka Autonomous Community.
The monarchs argued that Hon Obi, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Health Institutions has recorded wonderful achievements and therefore is deserving of a second term.
They urged Nwanaforo who is contesting on the platform of the Accord Party against the incumbent to exercise patience and allow Obi go for his second and final term.
They assured that the people of Ebenese will support Nwanaforo, proprietor of Disney Hotel in 2027 to clinch the seat if he withdraws from the race and backs his brother, Obi.
The communique which was signed by Eze P. E Ewuzie, Eze I. S. Ezerioha , Eze C. A Obieshi, Eze W. C Alagboso and Eze Kenneth Anumunu noted that Ebenese and the Ideato Nation will gain more if Obi returns to the National Assembly as a ranking member.
They also noted that Ideato South Local Government Area may lose the seat to Ideato North Local Government Area if both Nwanaforo and Obi who are from the Ideato South contest the election.
