Supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State have been urged to work hard and ensure that the party wins all elective positions in 2023.
The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Emeka Nduka, made the call on Thursday during a meeting with ward chairmen and other party executives at Ehime Mbano Local Government headquarters, Umuezeala-Owerre.
Nduka said that the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has paved the way through massive infrastructural provision across the state for the party to sweep the 2023 polls.
According to him, APC must win all contestable positions in the state.
The APC Zonal Chairman, Kenneth Nwachukwu, the Ehime Mbano APC Chairman, Austin Iwuoha, the Sole Administrator of the Local Government Area, Chidi Ikechukwu, ward chairmen and other party faithful attended the meeting.
In another development, the people of Ihebinachi Umuezeala Umuoma Nzerem Autonomous Community, in Ehime Mbano Local Government, have praised the state governor, Sen Hope Uzodimma and members of Imo State House of Assembly for the emergence of their son, Emeka Nduka as the speaker.
They gave the commendation on Thursday when the Speaker visited his people to formally inform them of his elevation.
The people thanked Governor Uzodimma and the members of Imo State House of Assembly for their decision to elevate Nduka.
A community leader, Chief Paulinus Ginigaeme who spoke on behalf of the community, said the emergence of Nduka as speaker shows he is a strong voice in the House of Assembly, reputed for the intellectual dexterity of the members.
He lauded Gov Uzodimma for the massive road construction he had embarked upon across the state.
He said the governor did not only support their son as Speaker but also is constructing an important road for them which was abandoned by successive governments.
Responding, the Speaker said that no amount of thanks is enough to appreciate the governor for the love and support he has shown to the people of Ihebinachi Umuezeala Umuoma Nzerem Autonomous Community in particular and the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area in general.
He noted that Ehime Mbano LGA has benefited more under the present government than any other government in the recent past.
He therefore called for support for the administration of Governor Uzodimma.
