The people of Ogbuji Ezenkwu Clan in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State have pledged their support for the African Democratic Congress, ADC candidate for Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency, Chinonso Uba popularly known as Nonsonkwa.
The people made the pledge at a meeting last weekend.
The Traditional Prime Minister (TPM) of the clan, Nze Uzoma Nnamdi said the entire clan had made a communal vow to stand by her son, Nonsonkwa.
Nnamdi said Nonsonkwa has proven to be the true voice of the voiceless in Imo State and Igboland in general.
The TPM said the decision to back the ADC candidate was taken after wide consultation with indigenes of the clan.
He regretted the absence of government presence in Mbaitoli South and expressed optimism that their son would represent Ndi Mbaike well as a federal lawmaker.
He reminded him of the Ukwuorji-Attah Road which was abandoned by the Rochas Okorocha government and urged him to ensure the completion of the road which connects more than seven communities in the federal constituency.
Nnamdi urged the communities make up Ogbuji Ezenkwu Clan namely Ubommiri, Egbeada, Ogbaku,Ifakala, Eziama Obiato, Azara, Umunoha and Afara to work for Nonsonkwa and ensure none of their votes is missing or invalidated during the election.
He extolled the sterling virtues of their son which include Integrity, steadfastness, sincerity and piety.
According to him, “Our son was the only person who spoke up when insecurity was becoming worrisome in Imo state.
“He fought those who believe they could dehumanize their fellow men because they are in power,
“Nonsonkwa stood his ground even when his life was at stake. He has been harassed, embarrassed, threatened, attempt made to arrest him yet he is still standing tall speaking for the masses.
“He is the best among all for the seat of Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency. We are proud to have him as a son,and there is no way to encourage him to do more if not giving him our bloc votes come 2023”
The highlight of the meeting was the pouring of libation for the victory of the ADC candidate.
